 Similarities between cats and tigers!

Hello folks, welcome to my channel. It may be difficult for us to compare a large feral cat that is hunting its prey in the forest or meadow with our little furry friend who likes to sit at a laptop keyboard, but did cat-lovers know that this big cat with a little domestic cat has a lot in common than we think? Both the big cat and the domestic cat belong to the felid family, and when we look at the taxonomic hierarchy of these two animals, they become more and more similar in appearance and behavior. Are you curious about the similarities between domestic cats and big cats?

At first glance, cats and tigers are similar. Groups of tigers, lions, leopards or tigers are often called big cats. Cats are miniatures of these magnificent large animals. Simon King, a lover of wildlife and big cat expert said, that whatever cats do is actually almost the same as what big cats do. Although they differ greatly in size, they exhibit similar behavior.

Here are the similarities in the behavior of cats and tigers.

  • The cat will lick the fur as an important part of body care. If cats want to show closeness to their owners, then they will lick them too. So it is with tigers (and other big cats). Every day they lick themselves and their close relatives.
  • Cats like high places. Don't be surprised if their favorite place is usually above the cupboard, above the shelf and other high places. Likewise with tigers, they usually stay on top of trees, rocks or high places to watch their prey.
  • Cats will rub their body or face against cat lovers to greet or give a sign that they believe in their owner. Tigers and other big cats also rub against their flocks when they meet to greet each other
  • Cats sometimes massage and squeeze cat lovers, it makes cats feel happy because it is similar to childhood behavior when feeding on its mother. All big cats do the same thing, especially the lions, tigers and leopards.
  • Cats love to play. What we see as a fight or wrestling between two cats, but for cats it is a very fun game. Both domestic and big cats enjoy practicing and interacting by rolling around and hitting their friends. Even though it looks harsh to us, the fact is that they do not actually use violence. In general, the big cats that often play are lions, the most social species among the cat family
